Sherry Butcher knows horses. She runs a horse farm. That led her to many observations.
Horses befriend other horses, and at times, swish flies from another’s face with their tails. With their teeth, they give back scratches.
Even wild horses never lose sight of other horses. When one is asleep, another stands watch, protecting the other.
Most people wish they had a “horse friend,” someone who would stand by them, protect them, and assist them.
The wise man said,
“One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” (Proverbs 18:24)
How do you measure up as a friend?
When your friend or brother in Christ has something that irritates them, do you carry their burden?
Do you protect them by defending them? Encourage them when they are down?
If a horse is smart enough to help another, what stops us? Aren’t you as smart as a horse?
