What are the odds that you are alive today?
Ali Binazir calculated them.
Your odds of existing as you do are 1 in 102,680,000. But it gets more complicated.
The chances of your father meeting your mother are 1 in 20,000. (You have a better chance of a lightning bolt hitting you!) But break that down. What made them talk in the first place? 1 in 10. And that chance meeting turning into a long-term relationship is 1 in 2. If all factors are considered, the chances of your birth are 1 in forty million.
You seem to be here because cosmic odds came together. That’s what some believe.
But that’s not true. We are not here because the universe rolled 7s at the cosmic crap table. You are here because God made you to be here.
The Psalmist says:
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.” (Psalm 139:13–15, ESV)
Before you think you don’t have a reason for life on planet Earth, think again. God made you, and since he did, go out and do what he made you to be.
