Cole Mushrush is not your typical cowboy. He doesn’t rely on traditional methods to manage his herd. Instead, he has embraced technology.

Each cow in his herd wears an electronic collar that helps him track their whereabouts. If a cow crosses the invisible fence boundary, it receives a small “jolt,” similar to a bee sting.

This method has effectively prevented most cows from straying, although some may still react unpredictably after receiving the shock. Mushrush finds this behavior unnecessary and wants to avoid it.

The purpose of the collar is simple: to remind the cows of their boundaries.

Similarly, God’s word doesn’t condemn us, but serves as a guide. It shows us the right path to follow and alerts us when we deviate.

In the words of the Psalmist:

“Please be there to help me, for I have chosen to follow your teachings. I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law brings me joy. Let me live so I can praise you, and let your rules guide me.” (Psalm 119:173–175, ESV)

God desires to keep us on the right track. By staying connected to His word, we can avoid straying.
