Life hands its share of disabilities. Many are physical such as muscular dystrophy or spinal injury.

Michael Hagmann has a form of muscular dystrophy called Bethlem myopathy that renders much of his muscles useless. But Michael has help.

He wears something called the Myoshirt. It uses computer algorithms to detect the slightest muscle movement. Mechanical elements react to help with things like reaching for a glass on a table. The shirt covers his arms and shoulders.

Without it, Michael’s life would grow even more difficult.

What about your spiritual strength? What happens when anxious, fearful, or in despair? While a garment doesn’t help in life crises, God does.

David knew. Bears and lions pursued him. Saul sought his life, and he ran through the deserts. Through it all, he clothed himself with God’s presence. So, he says:

“The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11, NIV)

When you find yourself weak, put on God’s power. He gives weakened spirits strength.
