A video circulating on the internet presents various scenarios. It then asks, “Is it right or wrong?”

·If I steal from the rich and use it to feed the poor, is that good or bad?

· If I drive over the speed limit to get my sick child to the hospital, is that good or bad?

Those are just two. The producers conclude that morality is what society treats as acceptable—using that idea, morality changes with the times. What was wrong is now right, and what was right is now questionable.

Do changing times change morality?

When morality becomes a function of how people see it, they find a society devoid of all morals, even shifting ones.

Others have tried shifting morals, and society crumbled.

At the end of the book of Judges, the scene is bleak. Rape and murder roamed the streets. Civil war broke out, destroying the fabric of the nation.

Why did this happen? Listen to Judges 21:25:

“In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 21:25, ESV)

When morality is personal or based on the current climate, you get chaos. That’s why God set down the standards of right and wrong from the beginning, unchanging and unwavering.

It is not popular with the masses but protective of them. Don’t let others decide what is right. Let God do it and stick with it.
